1. Who we are
SurveyMate Ltd (“SurveyMate”, “we”, “us”) is a company incorporated in England and Wales (Company No. 17144402). We operate the SurveyMate platform available at damp-survey.com and associated subdomains. We are the data controller for personal data processed through our platform.
Our nominated UK GDPR representative for data protection queries is our Data Protection Contact, reachable at privacy@damp-survey.com.
2. What data we collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Account data — name, email address, company name, hashed password.
- Survey and report data — property addresses, survey findings, photos, PDF reports, and client contact details entered by surveyors.
- Billing data — subscription plan, billing email; payment card details are held exclusively by Stripe, Inc. and are never stored on our servers.
- Usage and technical data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, feature interactions, error logs.
- Communications — support emails, feedback messages.
We also generate anonymised, aggregated insights (e.g. regional damp prevalence trends) from survey data. This information cannot be used to identify any individual or property and falls outside the scope of UK GDPR.

4. How we share your data
We share personal data only with the following categories of recipient:
- Supabase, Inc. — database, authentication, and file storage (sub-processor).
- Stripe, Inc. — payment processing (sub-processor).
- Resend / SendGrid — transactional email delivery (sub-processor).
- Vercel, Inc. — application hosting and edge network (sub-processor).
- Law enforcement or regulators — where required by applicable law.
We do not sell personal data. We do not share personal data with advertisers.
5. International transfers
Some of our sub-processors (Supabase, Stripe, Vercel, Resend) are based in the United States. Transfers are safeguarded by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, as applicable. Copies of the relevant safeguards are available on request.

7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of your personal data.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure — request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations).
- Restriction — ask us to limit processing in certain circumstances.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.
- Lodge a complaint — with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

9. Children
SurveyMate is a professional B2B platform. We do not knowingly collect data from persons under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us immediately.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app banner at least 14 days before taking effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
